How do you create a website for a product that is supposed to be experienced, but not seen? That was the challenge with the Lumiere Home Cinema website. In order to understand what I mean, let me tell you about the Lumiere. The Lumiere represents an evolution in the home cinema market. Sure, you have seen "themed" home theatre rooms with big screens, projectors and speakers everywhere, but you have never experienced anything like the Lumiere. The Lumiere is a custom built home cinema experience created by the same people who introduced us to the IMAX experience 20 years ago. Every aspect of the Lumiere is hand-crafted and meant to experienced and not seen. The goal is to immerse the viewer into the movie with no surrounding distractions. The nature of Lumiere system meant that the website needed to create a sense of magic and wonderment. This feeling is accomplished with rich imagery and emotional copy. It's all about taking you back to the first time you went to the movies. Recapturing that pure, unmistakable feeling is what The Lumiere Home Cinema Experience is all about.

client: verizon wireless | project type: internal sales promotion
Verizon Wireless wanted a way to internally promote the new smartphone lineup to their employees in a fun and creative way. The solution was the Smartphones for Smart People program. The website serves as the hub for this campaign that is supported with email blasts, videos and flyers. Employees can register for workshops on the website and get information about local demo events. Also, each week a new smartphone is introduced on the site homepage. After reading about the new smartphone, the employee can then take a quiz on the site about what they just learned. If they are able to answer all of the quiz questions correctly, then they get an opportunity to win a smartphone or other prizes. The site also features an application library, news archive and prize claim form. Since the premise of the program is education, the design reflects a light-hearted approach by taking adults "back to school". There are chalkboard graphics and hand-drawn elements throughout the site. Each page has a sidebar that gives the visitors the option to go straight to the workshop registration, gives them information about upcoming events and they can also see who the lucky winners were from the previous week.

o2ideas, (an advertising agency in Birmingham, Alabama) needed a new website. They wanted to be able to show samples of their work by categories, and get visitors to the information they were looking for fast. This new website accomplishes both and serves as an extensive showcase of the agencies' abilities. The site was laid out with XHTML and CSS. It makes extensive use of jQuery for both animaition and hover effects. The home page features a set of full-size rotating images that immediately shows you the type of work and client base the company possesses. The overall result is an organic look and feel that draws the visitor in and encourges them to stay for a while and learn about what the company has to offer.
